Whats on my face – Durban
I have never been a makeup girl. Well, I guess to an extent I am, but less so than friends. Painting my face has never been high on my priority list and I happily leave the house with nothing on my face other than sunscreen.
No one wants to read about life being harder recently. (Who am I kidding, people love to read things like that)But I have been clinging to things that make me a little happier and Megan sure knows how to make me smile with fun things (and things that are perfect for my skin) She has yet to influence me to buy something I don’t like (read love)
I once called her from a Dischem to ask what shade of foundation I wear because I had run out the day before an event. I am always on the move. I even have a hoodie that says “Always Busy” because I really am, always busy.
I never pack the same makeup twice. My choice of product is dependant on where I am going, what I am going there to do and I long I am going to be away. For a few days in Durban I kept it light and simple.
Everything is always packed in my little Aranda bag. It comes with any purchase of their Urban Totes and its just bloody handy.
It looks like a lot now but it really isn’t.
Essence Beauty Angel Wake up primer
I don’t really use primer but I quite liked the fresh feeling of using a little blob of this over my face. It really makes me look like I got licked by a happy labrador.
Maybelline Fit me Matte foundation and pressed powder.
This foundation was a quick buy. It’s a damn good shade match for me because I am one shade darker than transparent. I actually accidentally bought the powder in a shade darker (120 rather than 110) but it matches quite nicely making me look just a little more alive than I actually am.
This stuff is proof that giving a free sample really does lead to you buying the full sized product. I happened to get a sample when I bought my Naked 3 and when the Ultimate basics went on sale I had to buy one of these too. It really does make eye make up last. No matter the brand you use over it.
Stilla – Perfect me, perfect hue.
This is courtesy of Megan. She told me it was amazing and boy was she right. I use it all over my eyes and cheeks and the hard case and large mirror makes it perfect for traveling. As you can tell by the grubby photo, it is well loved.
Again, Megan made me do it. At first, I didn’t like it. I like big fluffy spoolies. But after one day of wearing it, I was sold and this is my second tube. I have been converted.
Eyelure brow set medium brown.
The most perfect brow kit for people who don’t know what they are doing.
I buy makeup on one simple rule, “will it travel well” I have also discovered a few products that travel-tired skin just loves. I can’t wait to share with you what else I have bought for travel skincare and makeup. (Spoiler, I ordered it from the UK)
Tell me in the comments below what is the one item of makeup you always have with you when you travel.
