I once saw a bunch of hot air balloons being inflated in a field in Bath, in the UK. It was the clearest day. Not a cloud in the sky right in the centre of Bath in Victoria Park a whole bunch of air balloons were slowly being inflated. Eager passengers waiting in anticipation for the basket to just-just lift off the ground for them to jump in.

Too busy to travel

Things get busy, you know? the past few months have been up and down in all sorts of ways. Up’s in moods, laughter, new challenges, and planes. Downs in health, workload, family things (who doesn’t have a family crazy enough to write a book about) and most importantly, a lack of adventures.

Family. Isn’t it weird how we all have family issues? Like who doesn’t have a screwed up family? I sure do. But I wouldn’t trade them for anything. My family is scattered all over the world and they are part of the reason I have such a deep love for travel. I grew up learning how to count in Rendili, we made flash cards learning the capitals of all the countries in Africa. We got dragged to go birding. How many 9-year-olds do you know who can tell you the scientific names for birds?
