Movies that make me want to travel.

Movies that make me want to travel.

Movies that make me want to travel.

The average traveler isn’t always off on some adventure. Lets be honest, most of us live vicariously through others (then roll our eyes at their perfect holiday photos) who travel more often than us.

Instead of bursting of jealousy scrolling through my Facebook feed I like to put on a movie that makes me want to grab my passport and go. I figure getting inspired by a movie is better than lusting over friends holidays and trips.

Here are some of the movies that make me want leave everything and go explore.

Under Tuscan sun.

Bramasole. Hot grapes in the market and a beautiful old Tuscan villa. How can you not want to see Italy after watching this movie.

*My brother recently visited Cortona and the real Bramasole and yes. Its as amazing as it looks in the movie.

The secret life of Walter Mitty.

Everything about this film pushes me to the door. From the scenes from Iceland to playing soccer on the foothills of the Himalayas.

Midnight in Paris.

Art AND Paris? YES PLEASE! What I wouldn’t give to get lost in time in Paris.

Do you have a movie that awakens your need to go and see things? Tell me about it in the comment section.

Strangely I love Angels and Demons, great advert for Rome. Also love Lost in Translation, a strange movie about a strange culture. Really like Boyhood, showing ‘normal’ rural US. And let’s not forget, Dancing Matt – the ultimate in wunderlust YouTube vids.

Yes, I agree with all 3! Oh heck, what I wouldn’t do to go to Paris! I recently read a book called “What I was Doing While You Were Breeding” and I think you will enjoy it too! It will make you want to hop on a plane and just go explore the world, even more than you already want to do that 🙂 I reviewed it on my blog this week, if you want to read up more about it 🙂

“The secret life of Walter Mitty” always makes me want to pack my bags and board a plane to Iceland!! I also love “Eat Pray Love” and “Lost in translation” – the latter is my most favourite travel movie ever 🙂
