For Women’s day we built a wall.

Today my sister and I built a wall. (husband helped)

This morning we got up at 4am to be ready to leave the house at 5:30am in order to catch the 6:45am flight to Cape Town.  Landed just passed 9am and we were picked up by my sister shortly after.

Upon our arrival my sister informed us of the 3, seventy year old’s (Mum, Aunt & Uncle) who wanted to build a little wall for their rose garden. We jumped in and took over construction. Oscar installed a solar light and my sister and looked at the pile of bricks, shrugged and said “How hard can it be?”.

Hard, is the short answer. What followed was 6 hours of digging, chopping up roots, laying bricks, realising we were packing them wrong, lifting them and laying them again. Then some cement mixing, some more bricks and so much laughter we had to stop to catch our breath.

It might only be 2 layers high but we laid every brick and had fun doing it.

For a belated Women’s Day message – Go out and build walls or take them down. You can do either ladies.

Haha what a mission! Totally worth it though and I’m sure you feel accomplished after all that effort 🙂 And also, YAY, you’re in Cape Town!
